Finger Lakes Federal Credit Union is seeking a Full Time Mortgage Processor & Servicing Specialist. The Mortgage Processor & Servicing Specialist role serves as a key liaison between borrowers, loan originators, and underwriters, ensuring all mortgage files are accurate, complete, and compliant from application through closing. The position is responsible for processing loan documentation, coordinating with third-party vendors, preparing disclosures, and supporting underwriting activities while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory guidelines.

This role also manages essential loan servicing functions, including escrow account administration, post-closing file review, insurance tracking, loan payoff letters, and member support related to mortgage servicing inquiries. In addition to mortgage processing and servicing this position plays a support role in a variety of duties related to the functions of the lending department. Support for the lending department includes acknowledging members as they enter the department, engaging with members to assist with loan inquiries and servicing needs both in person and over the phone and directing support to the appropriate lending staff when appropriate.

Position is responsible for delivering an exceptional member service experience while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast- paced, deadline driven environment. This role requires the ability to be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy, organization and efficient work habits handling a variety of operational responsibilities in the course of the day with the ability to switch tasks as the needs arises.

Qualified Candidates will have;
  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years of mortgage loan processing within a financial institution.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage products, lender and investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, and LOS platforms. Experience in Ellie Mae Encompass software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of TRID, RESPA, and ECOA preferred.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail. Efficient work habits to effectively coordinate processes for multiple files. Advanced typing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a unified team. Ability to proactively communicate with and help others within and across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and also seek and incorporate feedback on your performance from management, coworkers and members.
  • Ability to support and promote a sales and service culture.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple job functions and priorities, regularly switching tasks to ensure member service needs as well as mortgage file timeframes are being met.
  • Strong computer knowledge including proficiency in Windows, Word & Excel. Ability to learn new systems, processes or software quickly.
  • Active NMLS license or eligible for NMLS licensing.
